This month, twelve local students competed in the Poetry Out Loud Mariposa County Finals.
The County Champion title was awarded to Daniele Mattocks Turck, whose vibrant and nuanced performances of ‘What to say upon being asked to be friends’ by Julian Talamantez Brolaski, ‘And Soul’ By Eavan Boland and ‘A Poison Tree’ by William Blake scored very highly with the judges.
Supported by funding from the CalTrans Clean CA initiative, new murals and gateways are being installed in Mariposa during 2023. See progress and read details here.
